Running in to *wave* like a mad thing

Agh!!  Small apology to many of you for being so behind on emails, LJ etc.!  I've been completely manic here the past few weeks (new release...and then, signing a contract for a new novella that needs to be delivered by the start of Sept. Agh! AND WHY DOES MY IDEA OF A SIMPLE PLOT INVOLVED TIME TRAVEL???  I needz my head examined.) 'tis a shame, as I've got loads of fandom stuff I'm dying to post about (tennis, Sherlock Holmes, Star Trek - I finally caught up with the new movies for both - Game of Thrones, NCIS, etc. etc.)  But...anyway, time will come for all that soon.  I hope!

I also took a video last night of a little newt in my parents in law's pond. Must find my cable and upload :D

The beginning of September, plenty of time as long
you don't stop to eat or sleep and live on nothing but
coffee and Red Bull!!!!! Unless of course the whole time travely
thing isn't just a plot device?!? (could it be a boffin at
Southampton University has discovered the secret that has eluded all
but the Gallifreyans?).

I can't get into Game of Thrones, everyone
else seems to love it. I must be missing something
just don't know what!

It's kind of a plot device that i LOVED on paper. The first few chapters have proved trying to say the least, though ;) I *think* it's coming together again, though...I'm starting to love it once more. well, a bit ;)

Chris loved Game of Thrones possibly more than me, but I got really into it, just because I love something totally escapist and epic. I can't say I'm totally in love with it or any of the characters, but I'd enjoyed book 1, then got a bit bored with book 2...but apparently the TV series is even better.

This was me by the way! *waves hand frantically* :)
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:05 pm (UTC)
I thought so - *hugs*!

But it's always nice to see a pretty Markie and be sure :D :D :D

Well I did write a response to this but I wasn't
signed in so it may or may not turn up?!

Mentions of Red Bull and Gallifreyans and my not
getting into Game of Thrones, nothing much! ;)

Because time travel shenanigans are FUN!
Jul. 28th, 2012 11:01 am (UTC)
Oh yes...headache inducing, but fun and twisty nevertheless. I've had to make one of the chars a physics student, 'cos if he explains/handwaves all the twistiness, it's okay, right ;)

Jul. 28th, 2012 01:17 pm (UTC)
Just have one of the characters go 'I DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW IT WORKS' or zone out during the boring explainy bit :D
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:07 pm (UTC)
They might well end up doing that. Time travel is just an excuse for al fresco sexing anyway :P
Jul. 28th, 2012 11:04 pm (UTC)
HEEEEE, bonus points if one of the other characters finds the science talk a massive turn on ;)
Jul. 29th, 2012 06:30 am (UTC)
Hmmmm, actually, you've given me an idea there ;) But we'll MOAR TIME TRAVEL if we're going to get 'em together ;)
Jul. 28th, 2012 12:35 pm (UTC)

Because you are awesome?
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:08 pm (UTC)
Actually, because I'm a total masochist. And I want to be stressed all month, rather than relax in Tuscany. haha, yes, I'm me ;P
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:26 pm (UTC)
Well, I'm surprisingly good at sorting out time-travel logic, if you need and advising.
Jul. 29th, 2012 06:31 am (UTC)
Ooooh, yay!! I probably be in touch - thanks :D
Jul. 29th, 2012 12:40 pm (UTC)
No problem.
Jul. 29th, 2012 01:04 pm (UTC)
You might live to regret your kindness, but thanks soooooooooooo much...I'll be in touch :D :D :D
Jul. 29th, 2012 01:33 pm (UTC)
I untangle Steven Moffat's Doctor Who plots for fun. I think I can handle whatever you throw at me.
Jul. 29th, 2012 03:34 pm (UTC)
Yayayayayay!! I need you!!!

Do you fancy reading a beginning? Most of the mind boggling stuff comes later, but just to see if the initial premise makes any sense (feel welcome to be too busy/otherwise engaged - totally understand ;))
Jul. 29th, 2012 04:21 pm (UTC)
Maybe not this week? I've already agreed to review a draft for another friend.
Jul. 29th, 2012 04:41 pm (UTC)
Cool - no worries. Hehe, I've bitten off rather more than I can chew lately, so I totally understand :D
Jul. 29th, 2012 04:44 pm (UTC)
I need to do all of that stuff I was putting off until after Vietnamese, which includes a drawing, a critical read-through of a book, and a bracelet I'm making.
Jul. 29th, 2012 04:45 pm (UTC)
Eeeep, yes, and a whole book too :P That's quite time-consuming. Good luck :D

Hope you post piccies of the drawing and bracelet :D
Jul. 29th, 2012 04:47 pm (UTC)
I definitely will!
Jul. 28th, 2012 12:50 pm (UTC)
Newt!!! :-D
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:09 pm (UTC)
I will upload the little vid as soon as I've found a way to get it off my new phone. I hope the quality is as good as it seems - I want to identify the little chap :)
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:21 pm (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that my new newts are the babies of the ones I acquired earlier in the year. It would be rather unlikely for youngsters of a completely new species to have turned up without prior sightings. But it would be nice to have representatives of all 3 native species frolicking around in my pond. Do you know which species are supposed to be in your area?
Jul. 29th, 2012 06:33 am (UTC)
I think this was a little common newt :) But my parents have had a crested newt, so I think there must be a good vaariety around here :D

Aw, baby newts are adorable. Apparently, there was baby in the pond I was watching, but I didn't spot him. Hope yours do well :D
Jul. 28th, 2012 09:26 pm (UTC)
Jul. 29th, 2012 06:34 am (UTC)
Newts are cute :D
Jul. 29th, 2012 10:43 am (UTC)
*waves back*

Ooooo, all exciting stuff there! No wonder you are behind. And then starting a timey-whimey-travel fic? Oh dear, that must be a nightmare to write, but how brave you are. Iam sure it'll end up amazing as always. :)
Jul. 29th, 2012 01:03 pm (UTC)
Hehe, it is indeed giving me many nightmares. One moment I love it, the next hate it - wish me luck ;)

*hugs* back :)
Jul. 29th, 2012 03:48 pm (UTC)
*g* Good luck with it all! Not that I think you need it... *hugs*
Jul. 30th, 2012 07:07 pm (UTC)
*hugs* - oh, I think I do ;) Much appreciated :D
Jul. 30th, 2012 05:27 am (UTC)
Did I hear NCIS? *squee* One of my all-time favourites!

And I'm not watching GoT because I read the books (not all of them yet but the first 4) and the first season came out quite soon afterwards so it was a bit boring to watch but I loved the casting so I'll definitely have to watch it at some point.

I hope you're doing okay *hugs*
Jul. 30th, 2012 07:04 pm (UTC)
NCIS is one of those things Chris and I have literally just got hooked on, ten years later than the rest of the world ;) I'm not sure it's the sort of thing I'd be into fandom for, but it is rather awesome, from what we've seen.

I agree about the TV and books for GoT not mixing. I ended up not finishing the first book, as I saw the TV and overtook, and then there didn't seem much point!!

I'm not bad. A bit stressed, but that's my own silly fault, really, for taking on too much!! Hope your having a lovely summer ;D
Jul. 30th, 2012 11:11 am (UTC)

I ask myself this *g* Because you're full of wonderful ideas and artistic integrity? And perhaps, yes, just a bit of masochism? ♥

Hope it's all going OK now - remember to breathe and that it is all FINE really *hugs* I'll be ready to read anything for you in September as you know.
Jul. 30th, 2012 07:06 pm (UTC)
Srsly, am stressed about this and a bit of an idiot...though, actually, although its all from Simon's POV, the main trouble is Aubrey's character, not the time travel, so same old, realy ;)

I will breathe, I promise (and also post tennis DVDs when I get back to Soton! Am stillin WW recovering from weekend of Tunbridge Wells cousin wedding activities. you can picture the scene, I'm sure ;))

*hugs* and will be in touch :D
